Our State Senator, Margaret Carter, demands justice for Kendra James. She gave out a phone number for the community to call to keep up to date on the progress of this campaign for police accountability: 503-986-1722.

I think that these photos communicate the emotion of this vigil. What they don't communicate is how determined the leaders of our community are to confront the city over Kendra James' death. Community leaders are meeting with the District Attorney as I type these words. You can stay in touch with North Portland's efforts to hold the police accountable at PORTLAND POLICE BUREAU COMPLAINT (ppbcomplaint.com).
